Instructions

Ingredients

Clove essential oil: 2 to 3 drops

Carrier oil (olive or coconut): 1 teaspoon

Cotton ball or swab

Step-by-Step

Mix 2 to 3 drops of clove oil with 1 teaspoon of carrier oil in a small dish — never apply clove oil undiluted.

Soak a cotton ball or swab in the diluted mixture.

Gently press or wipe it onto the painful tooth or gum area.

Leave in place for 10 to 15 minutes.

Rinse the mouth with warm water afterward.

Reapply every 2 to 3 hours as needed, for no more than 1 to 2 days.

Whole clove alternative: place a single whole clove directly against the painful tooth and leave for up to 30 minutes.

Tips

Never swallow clove oil — even small amounts can be toxic.

Not a substitute for dental care: if pain continues beyond a day or two, or is severe, see a dentist.

Not recommended for young children without a diluted, carefully applied preparation.
